How to read these figures

The Observatory studies a sample of LinkedIn adverts for IT and related roles in the countries covered by the current publication. It covers the opportunities observed, rather than the entire labour market.

Role and skill categories combine explicit source facts with assisted text interpretation. Unclear facts remain unknown. Interpretations are provisional and can change as the method improves.

Counts use distinct advert identities. Reposts or agency adverts can describe the same underlying vacancy. An advert disappearing from the observed sample does not establish that the role was filled.

Pay uses each advert’s highest valid stated maximum per currency, on an annual scale. Monthly maxima are multiplied by 12 and combined with annual values across pay bases, components and working hours. Currencies retain their original units. Details can be older than the latest observation.

How to read coverage

Collected adverts, completed analyses and published statistics are different stages. Live analysis counts describe the current source revisions; charts use the latest completed publication and its data cutoff. An advert can appear in more than one country sample, so country totals can overlap. Complete and partial observation days describe collection coverage, not market activity.
