How stated maxima are calculated

Each advert contributes its highest valid annualized maximum once per currency. Monthly maxima are multiplied by 12, assuming 12 equal payments and no added bonuses or extra monthly payments. Annual and projected monthly values are pooled across tax bases, components and working hours, including unspecified types. Amounts without a valid maximum and hourly, daily or weekly amounts are excluded because no annual working-time assumption is made. Curves are smoothed estimates, normalized within each experience and currency group; their height is a relative density, not an advert count. At least 20 adverts are required per curve.

How to read salaries

The chart uses each advert’s highest valid annualized maximum once per currency. Annual amounts and monthly amounts multiplied by 12 are combined across gross and net pay, pay components and working hours; unspecified types remain unknown. Amounts without a stated currency or valid maximum, or stated hourly, daily or weekly, are excluded. Only the selected country’s main currency is shown; amounts in other currencies are excluded without exchange-rate conversion. Each curve needs at least 20 adverts and shows relative density, not an advert count. The all-experience curve includes the individual levels, so their counts overlap. These advertised upper amounts do not establish take-home pay, accepted offers or employee earnings.
